Quick updates:
I lost all pictures from the Kills tour. I'm so pissed cuz I took so many good ones. I was using my mother's laptop computer and the harddrive failed. I lost everything. Because of that major loss I am not only still working on the 1200 Pretty Girls Make Graves photos I have from the 4 tours I've been on with them including the Europe one, but I am making a 18x24 poster of selected photos of that tour. I'll put it up on the site when its done.

Dance Disaster Movement "We Are From Nowhere" LP/CD has been mastered and Andrew Reizuch just finished the artwork last night. Matt came over tonight to finish up the one sheet and look over the art. The art is insane. The same designer that did all the Le Shok records. I'll have CDs and LPs for mailorder sometime in December. If you want to preorder copies they will be $8 for LP/$10 for CD. Add a buck if you use paypal. This record is pretty sweet.

Soledad Brothers: Just got the art for the record and getting the master CD soon. I've been jamming the play copy in my car nonstop. Production sounds raw and loud and amazing. Simon from Sweet Nothing is releasing out in the UK. They are out there now on their tour and from what I've heard it's been going insane. They've been recording some new songs - Can't wait to hear 'em.

The Von Bondies: I'm going to be doing a Von Bondies record soon. I'll give more details on release date and format, etc...

Devon has started a label with the artist Shine (formerly in jail for some shade involving Puff Daddy). She is still shooting for the movie Fast and Furious 2. She's Ludicris's girlfriend in the movie. Been down there for 3 months and still going. She's pursuing singing upon other ventures. I just found this website this dude made about her... www.devon-aoki.com.

The Gossip: I'm so fucking excited about The Gossip 7". One original and one Teenage Jesus and the Jerks cover of "Orphans". They record in December for it. I can't fucking wait! Release date will be announced after I get the recording.

Another addition to the release schedule and roster are Sick Lipstick and Die Monitr Batss. There will be a split record coming out sometime next year. I've already got the songs from Die Monitr Batss and they blow my fucking mind. Best fucking songs I've heard in a long time.

Nathan from The Gossip/Die Monitr Batss made a sweet Dim Mak 2002/2003 poster titled "I'm Like a Stepping Razor Don't You Watch My Size I'm Dangerous".... It's dedicated to the big man himself Peter Tosh, who beautifully identified as the Stepping Razor cuz every time he steps he cuts down the "shitstem"..... Known as the most dangerous man in Jamaica at the time because of his outspoken radical agenda that liberated the minds of Jamaicans he was assassinated execution style by the gov't. To Peter Tosh, a legend transcending reggae, rock steady, weed, and music.

Huggy Bear Tribute update: here are new updates to the roster of bands: Black Eyes, Die Monitr Batss, Bratmobile, Fang as Firms, Pretty Girls Make Graves, Shoplifting, Sonic Youth? Along with the rest of the roster so far: The Gossip, Gravy Train, Paradise Island, Radio Vago, Bis, The Kitchen, Sick Lipstick, Panthers, and more... Once again if you want your band to be on this tribute please email me and send whatever records your band has released.

Panthers are recording this weekend for the 12"/CD slated for release sometime in April. Brian Roettinger, CEO of H3 Records (Hollywood & Vine), will be doing the art direction and design. Steve Revitte, the man behind the recordings of Liars and Yeah Yeah Yeahs will be producing this record. The songs fucking kick ass live, can't wait to get the mixes. And on the topic of mixes, Mike(y) Ott and I have been calling Nick the producer day and night to get the Bobcats tapes back but they got us in a pinch. They want some down payment but we know this shit's going platinum. I mean, come on, how can we go platinum with just ideas, we need the tapes to bring in the dough.

Pearlene 12"/CD coming soon early 20003. Pearlene are members of Soledad Brothers, The Green Hornes, and Brian Jonestown Massacre. From Kentucky and Michigan they weild out the best blues songs you'll ever hear. Very very authentic, with sax, strong Captain Beefheart and Howling Wolf references. Awesome. More news to come.

Phantom Pregnancies: The masters have been sent out and the release date is tentatively Feb. 4 2003. 26 songs of the most raw and fucked punk rock you'll ever hear.

From Matthew of From Monument To Masses: "Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want rain without thunder and lightning." - Frederick Douglass

Hey there. Steve asked us for an update, so here it is. From Monument to Masses is still going strong, making music, agitating, and doing groundwork here in the Bay Area, CA. We're concentrating on writing a couple last pieces of music to round off the new record we plan to record in January and release in mid-Spring. We're stoked about the new material - we're paying more attention to audio-sample content, and pacing, and we'll continue to explore electronic mediums. While the hypnotic elements are still ever-present in these new songs, there will most definitely be some aggravated and menacing outcroppings which may surprise even us. We're also planning on a full US tour in August'03. Apparently, Dim Mak Steve and I will be doing most of the booking ourselves, but URSIS is helping us with some shows in the midwest, and CandyGram will help us with a couple shows in the South. We played a show with some amazing bands in Sacramento recently, Maserati (Kindercore) and Fin Fang Foom (Lovitt), who will hopefully join us for a few shows down in the Tobacco Belt. Victory at Sea may join us for a show in Boston. Playing and hanging out with those bands was very inspiring to us. We also look forward to heading down to SoCal this Spring to play with Innaway, Friends in the Mountains, Goodbye Blue Monday, and hopefully Radio Vago and DDM! I'm sad that Miracle Chosuke broke up. I fucking loved those guys. We'll keep you posted on the FMTM goings-on (check our site, www.monument-masses.com). Thank you for listening, talking, and for showing up.

This band is hard work, but we can't stop yet: We need to make music, and the Movement can always use more "thunder and lightning". - Matthew, FMTM

This person emailed this to me the other day and I wanted to put this up to show how fuckin ridiculous this person is. Are they fucking serious? And they want a pro (postive) side on putting Muslims or Arabs in internment camps. There are no positive sides in putting ANYONE in internment camps.

"I have a serious question for whoever reads this. Should we put all muslims and arabs in internment camps if we go to war. List the pros and cons of doing this. I am writing an arguementative paper on this concept and would like some input. Remember to establish both sides of the arguement. Thank you" Gibbie
